A character you’ve created is dropped into the open world of Metro City, where you and your friends are free to roam and investigate at will. Street Fighter 6 introduces a new single-player mode called World Tour. Since the Drive meter is shared by both offensive and defensive capabilities, you’ll need to allocate it carefully.
An individual’s Drive meter can be used to do one of five actions: Drive Impact, Drive Parry, Overdrive, Rush, or Reversal. The Drive System is the key new mechanism in Street Fighter 6, and it aesthetically resembles the Focus mechanism in Street Fighter 4. Instead, each special move is assigned to a single button, and the result will vary depending on your current location and movement.

The standard six-button system that has been used throughout the series will continue to function, with button combinations allowing for special moves, but a new modern control scheme will streamline the process. Today’s gaming controls don’t necessitate intricate fingerwork or hours of effort to master. The addition of a second control scheme, while not essential, is an intriguing new element that can aid newbies. The trailer’s visuals may or may not be indicative of the final product’s visuals (there appeared to be slightly too much detail, but it’s possible), but they do suggest a change.
